MLB rules are changing in 2023 What are those rules?

The bases will increase in size from 15 inches square to 18 inches square.

1. When the pitcher is on the rubber, all four infielders must have both feet completely planted in the infield dirt.

1. The pitcher must start his motion within 15 seconds of the ball being ready for play if there are no runners on base and 20 seconds if there are any.

2. Within eight seconds of the timer commencing, the batter must be in the batter's box and "alert to the pitcher."

3. The pitcher receives an automatic ball charge if he arrives late. The hitter receives an automatic strike if he arrives late.

4. No more than twice per plate appearance may the pitcher "disengage" from the rubber.. If the pickoff attempt is fails, the runner advances automatically if the pitcher steps off or throws to the bases a third time.

5. The time between hitters and mound visits will both be limited to 30 seconds in attempt to speed up play overall.
